Christmas is almost here and this time of Christmas makes your Christmas more meaningful and happier. This holiday season is the great day of the year that comes with happiness and joy and a lot more activity such as buying gifts, surprises, decorations, and much more. When Christmas time of the year and when it finally does arrive many of us are left feeling exhausted and thankful that it’s finally over. One question is that can you relate? If yes, you will be happy to hear that Christmas doesn’t have to be this way. Before you go to sweep away by holiday you make sure to create a to-do list and tasks. In this time take a moment to sit down and read about twelve ways to make Christmas a more meaningful celebration for your family. There are the following twelve ways to make your Christmas more meaningful and happier for your family. Count a day for December 25

1. Learn about your family culture

At this time of the Christmas season, there is one thing to know that learns about your family culture and then you can create your Christmas happier.  One of my things is that I come from a French Canadian family and my family’s cultural heritage has a very significant impact on the way our family celebrates Christmas. We light the candles on our advent wealth and decorate a Christmas tree and on Christmas Eve we celebrate the rebellion. Before you do anything, remember the first thing is how you enjoy this holiday season on your birthday and know the worth of your culture and heritage. Or else by asking your parents, aunts, uncles, and grandparents how they celebrated Christmas when they were children, draw on their knowledge and experiences to make Christmas more meaningful for your family.

2. Create a simple family tradition

A Christmas family tradition is to make your family and friends a happier Christmas and more meaningful. Traditions do not need to be complicated, simply often best. One of the traditions that I started with my children was reading a Christmas book each day of December leading up to Christmas. There are so many traditions but they are wonderful. See these few ideas for that.

  • The best activity is to bake cookies and share them with your loved ones.
  • Decorate a Christmas tree together.
  • Turn your Elf on the shelf
  • Go Christmas caroling and sing carols at home.
  • Sleep one night around the Christmas tree.
  • Make a one-family gingerbread house.
  • You can Enjoy Christmas lights by driving around your town.

3. Let go of your expectations

As Christmas approaches, we become harried and frazzled. There is always one pressure in the holiday season to make everything perfect. By the time Christmas arrives, we are left feeling drained and sick. Last year I made the discussion a showdown during December by committing to fewer events and letting go of certain expectations like Christmas baking. By making this decision my family can enjoy this Christmas season freely.

4. Prepare for Christmas by keeping Advent.

When on this Christmas most people think of Advent, an image of chocolate-filled calendars comes to mind. As a child, those were my favorite, but the advent is a time to prepare our hearts during this time, the four weeks leading up to Christmas. I love Advent because it forces me to slow down, simplify and re-focus.

  • Make or buy an Advent spiral.
  • Create an advent book basket.
  • Make your advent more beautiful with your family.
  • With Jesus, Tree builds your anticipation.

5. Buy fewer gifts.

On this day buy fewer gifts for your family and friends. It can take courage to step away from the communication that surrounds Christmas. Starting in November we are bombarded with constant pressure to buy more stuff that will make everyone happier. It is a lovely thing to give a well-thought-out gift when there is a need, but there are other ways to show kindness, love, trust, and generosity without having to buy a plethora of presents.

  • Give the gifts of adventure.
  • Give the gift of time
  • Give the gift of trust
  • Give the gift of service.
  • Give the best value gift of promise.

6. Give handmade gifts.

Another idea for this Christmas is to create your own handmade gifts. People in your family really loved this type of handmade gift. Made handmade gifts instead of buying them. Handmade gifts are often much less expensive than store-bought gifts and I really enjoy making them. There are lots of ideas available to make any handmade gifts or cards for your loved ones. Choose something easy and simple for your kids.

7. Cultivate Gratitude on this Christmas

Gratitude is when we acknowledge the good things in our life. This way is looking and thinking to help us connect with others and is shown to make us happier. This time of the day makes us happier and makes our friends happier.

8. Volunteer as a family

On this day made one volunteer as a family. When the topic comes from volunteering courses, the automatic response is “I’m too busy” or “I don’t have time”. We are all so busy on Christmas Day but volunteering is always so important in every season. Volunteers can be more helpful and have so many benefits like improving self-eastern, building empathy, and much more.
